Loris Azzarro 1970s Dress

£695.00

Loris Azzaro founded his eponymous fashion house in Paris in 1967 after relocating from Tunisia. He rose to prominence in the late 1960s and early 1970s for his glamorous, sensual eveningwear. Signatures of the house included daring cut-outs and fluid silhouettes, and were worn by icons such as Brigitte Bardot, Jane Birkin, Sophia Loren and Tina Turner. A favourite on the red carpet to this day, Azzaro is vintage for those who were there - and those in the know.

This floor-sweeping gown dates to the 1970s and is crafted from pure silk satin, cut and draped to elegantly follow the curves of the body. The design features long, slim sleeves and a refined slash neckline. Both the décolletage and back are detailed with delicate sheer black mesh - a hallmark of the label - intersected by slender bands of black silk that echo the architectural lines of the dress. The gown fastens with a hidden tonal zip beneath the arm.
