Versace Versus Spring 1995 Skirt Suit
This baby blue satin skirt suit was designed by Gianni Versace for his Versus line during the early ‘90s. We believe this suit was designed as part of the Spring 1995 collection, where models - including Kate Moss and Amber Valetta - walked the runway in a variety of wide-lapelled satin suits. The jacket is cut to a cropped-length and detailed with gold buttons engraved with leopards. The back of the jacket has unusual, eye-catching detailing in the form of criss-crossing strips of satin that create a lace-up effect and reveal flashes of skin. The jacket is boned all the way around for a corset-style shaping of the body. The skirt is tailored to a super mini-length - a signature of the Versace brand at the time and very similar to the pastel mini-skirts worn in the iconic Fall 1994 advertising campaign shot by Richard Avelon. It fastens at the back with a hidden tonal zip. Both pieces are fully lined in pale blue satin.
