Versace 1990s Waistcoat

£295.00

Versace Jeans Couture was introduced in the late 1980s, shortly after the launch of the Versus line. During the 1990s, Versace Jeans Couture functioned as the house’s dedicated denim line, best known for its iconic jeans featuring exposed garment tags and gold Medusa logo patches at the back. Alongside denim, the line offered a more wearable interpretation of Versace’s iconography, often lauching more commercial versions of runway looks.

This top dates to the mid-1990s. The Spring 1993 mainline collection featured a leather waistcoat with similar hardware. This hardware was also seen throughout the Fall 1993 menswear collection. Every shirt, waistcoat and jacket was detailed with it - an instant house signature. Tailored from yellow cotton, this waistcoat has a boxy, cropped silhouette with a sensuous zip-up front finished with a sun-logo zip-pull. These suns also feature on the gold metal rivets and V-shaped metal detailing on the pockets, bottom hem and rear. The top is unlined.
