Lanvin Spring 2009 Top

This vibrant top was featured in Alber Elbaz’s Spring 2009 collection for Lanvin. It was also featured in the Spring 2009 issue of 10 Magazine. American actress Jordana Brewster wore the full runway ensemble to an opening in April 2010.

This emerald green silk-crepe top is richly textured with a tonal rose motif. The body is expertly twisted and draped to create sculptural movement. Elbaz’s mastery lies in such subtle manipulations, where a slight adjustment to the internal structure transforms simplicity into something covetable. This piece embodies his focus on form, texture, and the intrinsic value of construction. It has no fastenings and three large arm or head holes, and so how it is worn depends upon the woman. As Vogue described the collection, “It was intellectual and reserved, a quintessence of Lanvin that only Elbaz can achieve”; clothes, they wrote, “to make women keel over with desire.”
